Dear Canyon Springs Family, In early February, we held our annual congregational meeting as well as spoke in-service about the financial health of our church. Talking about money is typically not the most favorite thing for a pastor to speak about. Yet, I know Canyon Springs is not MY church. It is Jesus’ church and together we are the stewards, [...]
Alpine 2018 was a blast. We provided games, they made friends, and well, there was lots of sugar. But the most important part was that we wanted the kids to meet Jesus... One of the ways our kids met Jesus at Alpine was thru the one on ones that took place with their leaders. This was my highlight for the [...]
Winter x 2018 was MORE than just Snowboarding and Skiing. We also had a big group go to Bryce Canyon and a group go bowling. But beyond that was the opportunity for our youth to come face to face with Jesus thru worship, a message, quiet time or time with a leader. God met me there in the middle of [...]
Last month I heard about a need at Canyon Springs. One of our own students had been in an accident. As I shared this news one Sunday, I was moved to tears. Not only because of the accident, but also because I knew what my friends at Canyon Springs would do. You would step up and take care of this [...]
"ONE HERE ONE THERE ONE EVERYWHERE" Six months ago Pastor Jack shared with us the ONE HERE ONE THERE AND ONE EVERYWHERE campaign. It is a campaign dedicated to reaching more people not only here in San Diego but worldwide. Many of you contributed financially and have committed a pledge for this year to help the church reach its goal [...]
Houseboats 2017 was a huge success. This was the third Houseboat trip for Canyon Springs church and boy did word spread about this trip. We went from 115 to 150 kids. To see this many kids want to come to this camp was quite amazing and we are grateful to be at a church that supports reaching the youth in [...]
Creekside 2017 was a blast! On Sunday, June 18th Oasis Middle Schoolers grabbed their bags and headed north to Forest Home (FoHo) where we spent the week at Creekside! With 38 students and 10 leaders, we were bound to have a great time from the very beginning. No matter if this was your first time or final time going each [...]
Happy Father's Day We had a great morning at Canyon Springs celebrating Dads all around. We got to see the annual “Daddy Pictures” including the “Kids Say The Darndest Things” video. We heard an inspiring message on fatherhood by Pastor Paul. After each service, we enjoyed Brats & Dogs in the courtyard. Each service ended with two lucky fathers winning [...]
Alpine 2017 was a blast. There was a ton of snow this year so that made for even more activities than usual. It was great watching all of our San Diegans struggle to reconcile how to survive in the snow. Looking around the camp, you could tell that our kids were very unprepared as they walked around in Vans and [...]
Winter x 2017 was a great success. We had so much fun and there was a TON of snow. The new snowboarders and skiers seemed to pick it up pretty quick and everyone had a really good time. The highlight for me is always being a part of God's work that he is doing in the lives of our students. [...]
