Soul Spa Weekend 2026 was a true gift of rest. Fifty-five women gathered at the Courtyard Marriott in Carlsbad, and for 26 of them it was their very first Soul Spa experience. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere invited us to slow down, breathe, and be refreshed by the Good Shepherd.

Jilane Hawkins did not disappoint as our speaker. Her quick wit blended beautifully with deep, meaningful teaching from Psalm 23, keeping us both engaged and encouraged. Several takeaways continue to resonate:

• Don’t follow a counterfeit shepherd who doesn’t know you the way your real Good Shepherd does.

• “More” is the enemy that steals the green pastures of contentment our Good Shepherd has already led us into.

• Even in the darkest valleys, God never leaves us to fend for ourselves. He is with us, no matter what.

As a tangible reminder of God’s restorative still waters, each woman received a wave necklace. The simple wave points to the One who satisfies our deepest and most basic longings.

Small group breakout times became spaces of genuine connection. As we discussed Jilane’s teaching, common burdens were shared and friendships deepened. Conversations that began at the surface quickly grew into moments of mutual encouragement and understanding.

Worship with Jody Johnson wove everything together. Her leading reminded us of the restoring power of our Savior and Good Shepherd. Songs and Scripture settled over us like quiet waters, reinforcing the rest we had come seeking.

We may have arrived knowing only a few faces, but we left with many more. Friendships expanded, especially among the first-time attendees and, most importantly, our relationship with Jesus grew deeper as we were reminded again how tenderly He cares for us.

Soul Spa Weekend 2026 truly was a gift of rest by the still waters. We are grateful for every moment, every word, and every woman who walked this short, sacred journey with us.
