Day 1 of VBS with our Canyon Springs Light Bearers was a BLAST!
Our amazing team of adult and youth leaders made sure our campers had an unforgettable first day. This morning, campers rotated through four exciting adventures – Crafts, Snack/Rec, Music, and Story – all designed to point back to our mission for the week:
Shining a light on who Jesus really is.
Today’s Bible story came from Matthew 16:13-20. Jesus asked His disciples two important questions: “Who do people say I am?” and “Who do you say I am?” The disciples shared what others were saying about Jesus, but Peter boldly answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.”
This passage teaches us that Jesus is far more than a teacher or prophet – He is God’s Son and the Savior He promised to send.

Today’s Big Idea: Jesus is God’s Promised Son.
This week, our Canyon Springs Light Bearers are putting their faith into action!
In the spirit of following God’s plan, we’re partnering with Visión de Dios in Tijuana, Mexico. While the church has a building, the floor is currently just dirt. Some families even sleep there on the ground. Together, we can help change that.
Every dollar we raise will help provide a strong, smooth floor – a place where children can sit, play, learn about Jesus, and sleep safely. Jesus is our foundation, and this summer we get to help build a foundation for others, too.
And of course… it’s BOYS vs. GIRLS in a friendly competition to see who can raise the most!
Each day, we’ll tally the donations and announce how much money our incredible kids have raised.

On Tuesday, June 9th, wear your brightest neon colors as we celebrate shining the light of Jesus! Neon colors stand out in the dark – just like God calls us to stand out by showing His love and kindness to others.
