Earlier this month, our Canyon Springs Church team had the incredible privilege of serving in Guatemala, and partnering with the We Are Graces Ministry. Our team of 13 spent the week building relationships, serving alongside our Guatemalan friends, and experiencing the joy of community, ministry, and shared faith.

 

Construction

One of the highlights of the trip was helping install the roof on the home of Jonathan’s family, the sponsored child of John Wickenhiser. It was such a meaningful opportunity to come alongside a family in a tangible way and be part of improving their home.

Family Night

Throughout the week, we enjoyed “Our Super Heroes Family Night” filled with laughter, games, and connection. The temporary tattoos and bracelet station were a huge hit with the kids!

Field Day

Our field day brought so much excitement as children received jerseys from the Padres and other teams, along with sunglasses and water bottles. Of course, the water balloon games quickly turned into full-on fun, with kids running to the spigot and splashing one another in pure joy.

Men’s Conference

A new event we sponsored this year was our Men’s conference, which ended up being an incredible part of the trip. The men on our Canyon Springs team facilitated the event. We had a wonderful turnout, including teachers from the school, parents, staff members, and even drivers from Grace’s. Two men from the school shared powerful testimonies, and the music teacher lead worship music, which created a very special atmosphere.

 

Home Visits

Our home visits were deeply meaningful as well. It was such a joy to spend time with our sponsored children, connect with their families, and deliver food bags to bless them and support their needs.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Overall, the trip was filled with opportunities to serve, encourage, worship, laugh, and build relationships. We are so thankful for all that God did during our time in Guatemala.
