We did it – Day 2 is in the books! We had another fantastic day shining a light on who Jesus really is and learning to shine His light wherever we go. Our campers embraced today’s Neon Day theme with some incredible outfits! The bright pink, yellow, green, and teal shirts, along with all the light-up necklaces, glasses, and bracelets, helped us glow for Jesus all day long.

Our campers stayed busy throughout every rotation! Did you see the adorable Jesus’ Baptism in a Cup craft? The kids have also been having a blast at Rec with balloons, relay races, lots of laughter, and even a few leaders getting “pie-d” in the face! During Music, everyone was rocking out to Illumination Station and God’s Promised Son. Keep listening at home and helping your campers learn those lyrics!
Jesus is God’s Perfect Son
Today we learned that Jesus is God’s perfect Son. Our Bible story came from Matthew 3:13-17, Mark 1:1-11, and John 1:29-34. We heard how Jesus came to the Jordan River to be baptized by John the Baptist. At first, John didn’t think he should baptize Jesus because Jesus had no sin, but Jesus explained that it was God’s plan.
When Jesus came up out of the water, the heavens opened, the Holy Spirit descended like a dove, and God the Father declared, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased.” What an amazing reminder that Jesus is exactly who He says He is!

Generosity for Mexico
A huge thank-you to all the kids who brought money today for our friends in Mexico! We were so impressed by the generosity shown by our campers. Everyone was eagerly waiting to see who raised more money – boys or girls – and how many “bricks” they earned.
At the end of the day, we celebrated that the boys raised enough money for two stacks of bricks, while the girls raised even more and earned three stacks of bricks! What an incredible start! I have a feeling we can do even more before the week is over. Our friends in Mexico will be so blessed by these generous donations.
Please encourage your kids to continue earning money through small chores and jobs around the house – or maybe by digging through that family coin jar!
