The first day at VBS with our Canyon Springs Surfers was awesome!
Our team of Small Group Leaders and Small Group assistants were STOKED to have all our campers at Breaker Rock Beach. Speaking of stoked, be sure to ask your kids about our very special visitors Dude Pipeline and Bruh Shredder. They are in search of the ULTIMATE WAVE. Each day they are teaching us a new surfer word.

God’s truth never changes.
Today’s bible story was based on the scripture from Genesis 2-3, when Satan tricked Adam and Eve. Adam and Eve listened to Satan’s temptation, chose to disobey God, and broke their relationship with God. Their disobedience brought sin into the world. But God also promised a plan to defeat Satan. We now know God’s plan was to send Jesus to restore the relationship between people and God.
The lesson reflects today’s message:
Some People Say: Truth can be different for different people.
God Says: Truth comes from Me!!
Apoyo Para Estudiantes!
In light of following God’s plan, this week our Canyon Springs Surfers are invited to help Vision de Dios in Tijuana. Apoyo Para Estudiantes! While primary and secondary education in Mexico is constitutionally free of charge, families often bear significant additional costs for uniforms, supplies, and transportation. This situation can create a financial burden on many households, especially those with limited resources. We are teaming up with Vision de Dios, in Tijuana, Mexico to help provide funds for children for school. We provide the funds and they will purchase the needs for the children. Campers can bring donations to VBS. At the end of each day we will count how many “gifts” we were able to provide based on the campers’ donations. Did I mention this is a boys vs. girls competition? They are really trying to see who can raise the most money.
Your children also have the opportunity to participate in our one day, family friendly mission trip to Mexico. It will take place on Saturday, June 15th. If you and your child would like to attend, you can sign up and get all the detailed information at www.canyonsprings.org/events.
Campers had a blast making ocean keychains and painting rocks during CRAFT today. Rec was FULL of fun (and chaos) with our beach ball games. We saw lots of big smiles and heard some huge belly laughs- especially when our rec leaders were pied with whipped cream.
Tomorrow, Tuesday, June 11th is Ocean Day at VBS
Come dressed in your Hawaiian shirt, beach attire, linen pants, etc. OR come dressed as your favorite ocean animal- fish, octopus, jelly fish, pufferfish. Get creative!!! NO BATHING SUITS PLEASE. Get creative!!!. (Campers do not have to wear their VBS t-shirt on this day, but attire needs to remain appropriate). Please also refrain from bringing any large “props” as it will be challenging for children to rotate between stations with these items.
