Well, we completed the second day of our VBS experience and had fun getting our GAME on! Our campers have stayed focused on our mission and recognizing that FOLLOWING JESUS CHANGES THE GAME! Today we saw some awesome dress up costumes including Mario, Luigi, Bowser, Dominoes, Twister, Clue, and more!

Our campers were very busy at all the rotations today! Did you see the journal your child made during craft? The kids loved their time at rec the last couple of days with water games, relay races, and more. Our song and dance time was spent learning the song “Do Not Fear” with lots of fun dance moves and plenty of giggles in the auditorium.

Through all the events, we continued learning about who Jesus is and what He can do for us. On day 1 we learned that Jesus is Holy and that changes everything, and learned about how Peter and the other fisherman left everything and followed Jesus.  Today, we learned that Jesus is Trustworthy even when I doubt.  Today’s story came from Matthew 14:22-33. Jesus told His disciples to go ahead of Him in a boat. The disciples’ boat was far from shore. The wind and water grew rough. The disciples saw Jesus walking on top of the water toward them. Peter asked to walk to Jesus on the water, and Jesus said, “Come.” Peter noticed how strong the wind was and got scared. He began to sink and cried out, “Lord, save me!” Jesus saved him. Jesus asked Peter, “Why did you doubt Me? Is your faith really so small?” As soon as Jesus and Peter got back into the boat, the wind stopped! The disciples worshiped Jesus and said, “It’s true. You really are the Son of God!”

Thank you to all the kids that brought money today for the kids of Vision de Dios in Tijuana! We were quite busy collecting money and distributing bracelets this morning! We were so anxious to see who raised more money (boys or girls) and how many “presents” they collected! At the end of the day, we celebrated that the BOYS brought in enough money for TWO stacks of presents. But the GIRLS brought in even more money and contributed THREE present stacks! I bet we can get even more this week! Our friends in Mexico will be so grateful for our generous donations. Please encourage your kids to do small chores/jobs around the house – or maybe you have a coin jar they can raid?!

Tomorrow kids can wear their regular Spark Studio Shirts. On THURSDAY we will have crazy, color spirit day. Kids can come dressed head to toe in their group color!
