VBS 2022 – Day 5 Final Recap

We crossed the finish line! Our VBS Talent Recruit is complete – and we finished strong!! What an amazing week! Our Creatives were so great at staying focused on our key job for the week (which of course was to have fun) but also to live into being CREATED, DESIGNED, and EMPOWERED by God!

We finished the week strong with some really fun activities in our various events:

• CRAFT–The Creatives made some very special memories and designed an awesome “Created in Christ” frame with a picture of their group! All our campers loved the opportunity to decorate a frame and take home a picture of their group as a keepsake!
• REC–It was one big fun time with wet sponges and water balloons! And, boy, was it ever slippery!
• MUSIC–We got to review ALL the fun songs that we’ve done this week. Then, all the kids circled up and got to share individually what their favorite part of VBS is. It’s great to hear how different parts of VBS resonate with different kids.
• STORY–Our story today was about how God sent the Holy Spirit. After Jesus rose from the dead, He told His disciples to wait in Jerusalem for God’s promised Helper, the Holy Spirit. After this, Jesus was taken up in a cloud. Ten days later, the group was together when they heard a mighty wind that filled the room. The Holy Spirit had come! They began to speak in languages that they had not known before. Jews from every nation were in the city when they heard the wind. They gathered to see what was happening. Even though the people spoke different languages, they could understand because the disciples were speaking in their languages! The Holy Spirit gave Peter the power to share the good news about Jesus. That day about 3,000 people became part of the first church.

Acceptance of Christ

Toward the end of the week, during Storytime, the kids were given the opportunity to pray to invite Jesus into their heart and become part of His family. Throughout the week we had 16 kids say that prayer and accept Christ! That is absolutely wonderful!! Please talk to your child and see if they made this decision this week. Whether you are brand new to Canyon Springs or have attended for a while – if you want to learn more about us, then Starting Point is for you. Join some of our staff and other church members, enjoy a fresh cup of coffee or breakfast snack, and learn more about us in a casual and friendly setting.

This Sunday, July 10th is a Starting Point Welcome Breakfast!

We meet in the teacher’s lounge adjacent to the courtyard at 10:40 am, right after our service. You’ll get to mingle with others for 10-15min, and then hear from our staff for the remainder of our time together to learn more about and what’s important to us.
