Due to the recent and forecasted rain, the thanksgiving morning hike has been CANCELLED. While hiking in the rain is not uncommon, Penasquitos Canyon technically closes during and after rain due to the sensitive environment and surroundings. We’ll be back next year! Either way, please have a WONDERFUL THANKSGIVING!
Looking for something different to do on Thanksgiving morning with your friends, family, spouse, other half or just yourself? Join us for a morning hike at Los Peñasquitos Canyon Preserve. Starting at the North end in Peñasquitos Creek Park, we’ll head out on the trail to the Penasquitos Waterfall. It’s an easy, out-and-back hike suitable for all ages!
The hike to the waterfall is approximately 1.75 mi out, so around 3.5 mi round trip. But since it’s an out & back, you can turn around anytime you wish. In the past, we’ve been out for approx 2.5 hours: approx 1 hour to get to waterfall, 15-30min break, and then 1 hour to return. (Back to our cars ~10:30am)
No need to RSVP or otherwise – just show up!
