AWANA is a mid-week children’s program for grades Kindergarten – 3rd grade. This program reaches children for Jesus through fun and interactive games, songs, Bible stories, and hiding God’s word in their hearts. AWANA engages children with large-group teaching, small-group discipleship, and games.
As children enter the pivotal elementary years, AWANA curriculum ensures that kids are knowledgeable of God’s Word and can apply His truth to their lives and face anything as disciples of Christ.
We meet Wednesday evenings, 5:15 – 6:45pm.
What’s a typical AWANA night? We have three (3) rotations every Wednesday at AWANA:
- Small group/table time: Children can engage in small group time where they review memory verses, interact with consistent small group leaders, and spend time in prayer. Each child has their very own AWANA handbook. The handbook goes through people and events of the Bible, building a foundation for knowing Christ. There are memory verses along the way, and children earn badges, jewels, and awards for all their hard work hiding God’s word in their hearts.
- Counsel Time: This portion of the night is spent hearing specific stories from the Bible. It is a direct teaching opportunity where the stories in the Bible come alive for our students. We often work through fun and engaging series to help kids connect and learn from the Bible. We also sing songs, enjoy object lessons, and participate in group discussions during counsel time.
- Outdoor Games: At Canyon Springs, we love to have FUN! We can participate in friendly competitions, relay races, and sporting activities during outdoor games to earn points for our color team. Children also earn points for demonstrating good sportsmanship and being good helpers.
We meet Wednesday evenings, 5:15 – 6:45pm at 10695 Treena St #101, San Diego, CA 92131
