What Ministry / Group do you Volunteer With?
Niki: Oasis (High School), Small Groups
John: Board, Worship Band, Small Groups, Haiti
When did you start coming to Canyon Springs?
Spring 2005
What made you decide to Volunteer?
Niki: I spent years trying to find a ministry on my own and each one didn’t pan out. Then one day, I felt God’s spirit prompt my heart to become an Oasis youth group leader during a promotion service in the summer of 2017. I immediately ran up to Chad after the service and signed up. I have had the same group of girls since they were freshmen and now they are about to be seniors! I have never doubted that it was exactly what He called me to do!
John: I had served in these ministries (board, band, small group) at a prior church and was eager to serve at Canyon Springs. For Haiti, I felt God prompting me to go on a trip and the life changing experience made me want to continue serving there.
What is your favorite part about Volunteering?
Niki: Getting to watch my Oasis girls grow and mature in both their relationships with each other and their faith!
John: When volunteering, I feel like I am a part of something bigger than myself and I experience great joy when I see the ways that God is using Canyon Springs to eternally change the lives of others both locally and internationally.
