The Women of Canyon Springs joined an audience of 2,000 women at The Rock Church on April 5, 2025, for Priscilla Shirer’s “Going Beyond” conference. Priscilla’s brother, Anthony Evans, led a powerful time of worship that set the mood for our hearts to receive Priscilla’s message. Read more about this fantastic gathering.

 

Priscilla shared her passion for adjusting our posture toward God from one of malaise to one ready to obey with a “yes, Lord” attitude toward whatever God asks of us. She shared practical tips on how to study God’s Word through these five steps:

 

  • Position: Position yourself to hear from God by putting yourself in a distraction-free spot to read your Bible (e.g., in your car or a quiet corner of the house).
  • Pour: Pour over the passage and paraphrase the major points of the passage.
  • Pull: Pull out the spiritual principles and write them down (e.g., always trust in God).
  • Pose: Pose a question from the spiritual principle (e.g., do I always trust God?).
  • Plan: Plan obedience and pin down a date to better obey this spiritual principle (e.g., by the 29th of next month).

Priscilla encouraged us that on the other side of obedience is FREEDOM!
