How God moved at Camp this Summer
Its official Camp Session is over!
Whether it was Houseboats or Forrest Home, many students had life-changing encounters with God that will impact their faith for the rest of their lives.
Camp isn’t always glamorous. It usually happens in the great outdoors without indoor bathrooms, sunburns, bugs, and many less-than-ideal circumstances. But, it’s always worth it. God is always faithful to reveal Himself in the hearts and lives of the students and volunteers that attend.
In mid-July we took 103 High School students to Lake Mead for Houseboats. The students got to enjoy water sports, games, spending time with their peers, and many other awesome activities. They also had the opportunity to gather at chapel service every night where they experienced powerful worship and a message. Five students made a first-time decision to follow Jesus and many more made commitments to grow in their faith in various ways. One of these students, Luke Smart shared on Sunday how he initially went to Houseboats to hang out with friends and have some fun on the water. However, God captured his heart and accepted The Lord for the first time. During our baptisms this past Sunday, Luke also spontaneously decided to make a declaration of his faith by being baptized. His story is just one of many students on this trip.
A couple of weeks after Houseboats we took our Middle School students to Forrest Home for a week! We took 56 middle schoolers and headed up to the mountains to spend a week at camp. The students were able to participate in various activities such as zip lining, kayaking, water slides, mini golf and so much more. They also had independent solo time each morning and chapel at night. 6 students decided to commit their lives to the Lord for the first time. Kira Faruis (who also shared this past Sunday) about how God impacted her at camp also spontaneously got baptized this past Sunday. As always, these trips could not happen without our amazing volunteers and leaders who selflessly poured themselves out for these students!

OASIS is Back September 6th!
The wait is over! Our first official OASIS gathering is Wednesday September 6th at our new church building! We have some amazing ideas in the works for what Youth Group in our new space will look like. Much like the soft launch we are currently in for Sundays, please bear with us as we get our footing in our new building. We will have more details about our youth services in the coming weeks. But for now, mark your calendar for our start up date.
