Well, we completed day FOUR of our VBS experience and have enjoyed watching all our campers’ creativity with their SUPER COLOR SPIRIT! We have stayed focused on our mission and have learned that following Jesus Changes the Game! 

 

Before we get into all our VBS fun for the day… your kids may have come home telling you about our awesome mid-week programs that will start in the Fall.  AWANA is for our kindergarten-3rd graders. It meets on Monday nights from 5:15-6:45 pm. The registration is typically $90 for the year but we are offering a significant discount for our VBS campers.  Sign up now for just $65. We are THRILLED to announce that your children helped raise $880 for our friends in Mexico today!! At the end of the day, the girls got FOUR present stacks BUT the boys JUST BARELY pulled ahead and got FIVE stacks of presents. 

Our campers were FULL of energy today. They worked hard and had a whole LOT of fun at rotations. During craft our gamers made a game of Kerplunk. Rec was so much fun. Those kids laugh the entire time they spend with Mr. John and Mr. John (it’s also so much fun that BOTH of our rec leaders are John 🤪) Tug of war was our  friendly competition for the day and campers competed boys vs girls for bragging rights.

Music was a BLAST. Kids could not be more thrilled to do our “YES TO VBS” song. It’s a fan favorite and they NEVER get sick of it.  We also learned our final song “Make Your Move” Tomorrow we will spend the rest of the day reviewing all 5 dances.  Have your kids continue to listen to the songs and memorize those words. 

During story time, our campers learned Peter spoke boldly about Jesus. As Peter and John were going to the temple, they saw a man who couldn’t walk. Peter healed the man through Jesus’ power. People who knew the man were amazed, and Peter taught them the good news about how Jesus died and rose again to save people from their sins. The religious leaders were annoyed that Peter and John were preaching about Jesus. They arrested the two disciples. The next day, Peter and John stood before the religious leaders and spoke boldly about Jesus. The leaders knew these uneducated men could speak this way because they had been with Jesus. The leaders commanded the disciples not to teach about Jesus anymore. Peter and John said, “We can’t stop.” They knew they had to tell people about Jesus no matter what happened.

Pizza lunch and bounce house celebration!

We are in the HOME STRETCH and I can hardly believe we only have one day left together on our gaming adventure.  As a reminder, pick up time tomorrow is still at noon. Directly following camp, we will have an end of VBS celebration with Pizza, chips, cookies, and water that you may attend with your child. We will also have bounce houses for kids to play on. We would love to have you join us. There is a suggested donation of $5-10 per family. This event is for families and a parent chaperone is required. 

Sunday Church VBS Celebration!

Sunday, June 25th is VBS Sunday at Canyon Springs! What a better way to celebrate than with donut holes and bounce houses! We will be celebrating all the money that our kids have raised to support our friends in Mexico for the Regalos Para Abuelos program. And we will watch the wrap up VBS video.
