Purple, Parent Meeting, OASIS Midweek TOMORROW!
Before I get into some big topics for this update, I just want to stop and ask you: How are you doing? Honestly! How are you? Stop, take a deep breath, and answer that for yourself. I know all of our circumstances are different even as we’re all in this together. Because of that, I know for many of us this time is isolating, straining, and stressful, especially as numbers go up restrictions tighten. Know this: I would love to hear how things are really going so that I can be praying for you, encouraging you, and getting to know you and your families better. So if you’re up for it, let me know!
Parent Meeting
On that note, since I’ve arrived, I have wanted to get parents together to get to know you and give you insight into where I hope to lead OASIS into the future. I had hoped that we were approaching a time to do that in-person soon, but with restrictions increasing again, I don’t want to wait any longer.
Instead, I want to invite you to a Zoom parent meeting on Monday, November 30 at 7:30 pm. We’ll email out the link for this next week, but because this is update is also posting on our blog, I don’t want to include the Zoom link/password here.
Pastor Jack will join us, and we’ll be discussing how we’re rebuilding OASIS, where it’s headed, what we’re planning for the months ahead, answer questions you may have, and give you a chance to talk with your child’s small group leaders in breakouts as well.
Purple Tier
I know some of you may be wondering how the new Purple Tier of restrictions will impact OASIS. Fortunately, the impact is pretty limited.
We have been focused on rebuilding OASIS in such a way that only a full lock down could really disrupt how we are meeting. We are emphasizing and enforcing facial coverings, we are doing our best to space students out, and our large group meetings are already outdoors. As restrictions increase, we will be continually mindful of what we can do to make OASIS gatherings as safe as possible.
OASIS Midweeks This Week!
With that in mind, we are continuing our plan to bump up to two large group gatherings this month. We’ll be outside at the Cove tomorrow night at 7:30 pm. Please sign up here, and don’t forget to remind your student to dress warm! We’ll provide seating, but they’re welcome to bring a blanket as well.
Thanks for your support through this season! I’m looking forward to seeing you all on Zoom, and don’t hesitate to reach out, let me know how you’re doing, and how I can be an encouragement or a support to you and your family!
Sincerely,
Luke Angus
High School Pastor
