ZOOM IN AND FOCUS ON JESUS!

Today’s ENCOUNTER with Jesus was in the Temple based on the scripture from Luke 2:41-52. We heard the story about how when Jesus was twelve years old, He traveled with His family to Jerusalem for the Passover Festival. After the celebration Mary and Joseph headed back to Nazareth. After traveling a full day they realized Jesus was not with them. They hurried back to Jerusalem and finally, on the third day, Mary and Joseph found Jesus in the temple. Jesus was listening to the teachers and asking questions. Everyone was amazed at how much Jesus understood at such a young age.

The lesson reflects today’s message:

Jesus Knew Why He Came!

In light of following God’s lead in the way he cares for us, this week our trekkers are invited to help and care for the children of Rio Al Mar in Mexico by bringing donations to provide school uniforms for them. In this particular area of Tijuana, the children are not able to attend school if they do not have a uniform – and the uniforms cost $80! These families do not have much at all. Campers can bring donations in and turn them in to Mrs. Holly when they get to VBS. At the end of each day we will count how many uniforms we were able to provide based on the campers’ donations.

Tomorrow

Tomorrow is In The Wild Dress Up Day!! Wilderness experts trail guides, and all our campers should dress head to toe in their favorite wild animal outfit.  Think animal print, wild animal costumes, or safari attire.  We can’t wait to see what you come up with!
