Well, we completed the second day of our VBS Game On Tournament! Our team (made up of Head Coaches, Asst Coaches and Players) is amazing; they have stayed focused on their goal which is to GEAR UP, GET READY AND GAME ON! Not only that, but we had a myriad of athletes present today, including soccer players, softball/baseball players, dancers, gymnasts, swimmers and more; they were definitely “geared up” and ready to play!

Our players were very busy at all the rotations today! Did you see the pom poms that your child created? They can cheer on everyone in your family and your neighborhood all the time! At rec, the groups had fun “keeping their room clean” with wet sponges (might want to ask them what that means??). More than anything, I think it felt really good to cool off!

Through all the events, we continued learning about who Jesus is and what He can do for us. On Day 1, we learned how Jesus Cares for Us, with the parable of the lost sheep. Today we learned how Jesus Gives Us Hope through the story of when He raised Lazarus from the dead. We also learned how WE can provide others with the hope of Jesus! The same way that the Hesskew family moved to Poland and uses sports to share the love of Jesus there, we can show his love to those a few hours away in Mexico by helping to provide school uniforms and supplies to the kids in Tijuana.

Speaking of that, thank you to all the kids that brought money today for the kids of Rio Al Mar in Tijuana! Ms. Pam was quite busy collecting money and distributing bracelets this morning! We were so anxious to see how many kids would get uniforms. At the end of the day, we celebrated that we had enough money for TWO kids in Tijuana to get school uniforms – so they can now go to school because of the hard-earned money brought today by our VBS kids! Please encourage your kids to do small chores/jobs around the house – or maybe you have a coin jar they can raid?!

Tomorrow morning after drop-off, we are hosting an Espresso / Coffee cart from 9:00am-10:00am right outside the front gate. Hang out, meet some old and new friends, and have a coffee on us! It will be just what you need after dealing with the Pomerado traffic?!
