Hard to believe our VBS space shuttle mission is over half way complete! Boy, have we had fun!! Typically, “hump day” at VBS is kind of low energy – not today! Our crew was fired up and ready as ever to embark on their mission!
They were, once again, very busy at all the rotations today! In craft, they made adorable bookmarks. What a great opportunity to remember VBS when they’re doing their summer ready or reading their Bible! :) At rec, the kids had fun with sponges, hula hoops and slip & slide – Sounds pretty awesome to me! We learned TWO new songs today, “Over the Moon” and our legendary, always a fan-favorite “Yes to VBS”. Play the CD and have your child show you all the new moves!!
Our story today was about the birth of Jesus! Yesterday we learned how sin entered the world when Adam & Eve were tricked by the serpent and disobeyed God’s command. This broke man’s relationship with God. The campers were told they would find out today how God had a plan to fix this brokenness. And they did – God sent His son, Jesus, into the world. He was born of a virgin, Mary, and because all the inns were full, he had to be born in a stable in a manger with hay. Despite His humble beginnings, he was the promised Messiah, who would fulfill God’s promise to make things right between God and man. This story reflects THE RELATIONSHIP PROMISED.
We had many kids bring money today for the kids in Tijuana! We were able to celebrate that THREE more kids in Tijuana get school uniforms! Commander B (Betsy) challenged the astronauts to do whatever they can to earn money at home so we can continue to provide more uniforms to these kids in need.

We cannot wait for Day 4 of our mission aboard the Canyon Springs Space Shuttle! TOMORROW IS OUT OF THIS WORLD DAY; the options are infinite! (But please keep the attire appropriate – no bathing suits, spaghetti straps, short shorts, leggings).
Please plan to hang out on Friday for our VBS Family BBQ right after VBS is over at noon! We’ll have hot dogs, chips and popsicles and a bounce house-for just $5/family!

Our memory verse for the week is:
“Through him God created everything in the heavenly realms and on earth. He made the things we can see and the things we can’t see, such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen world. Everything was created through him and for him.
