Well, B.A.R.F Night was a huge success! We had 15 friends visit our Awana for the first time!
We shared with our new friends what Awana is and what we do on Wednesday nights. We invited them to come back anytime – we’re hoping they will come see us again!
Lots of clubbers made their way into the Awards room to claim patches, jewels and wings! They are working so hard and memorizing so many verses; it’s awesome!
During Counsel Time, we talked about two words: WORRY and TRUST. The clubbers shared some of the things that they worry about (getting in trouble!) and some of the people in their life that they trust (parents, teachers, God). We wondered together whether or not worry and trust can go together? Ms. Betsy did a demonstration with cooking oil (representing worry) and water (representing trust). Our demonstration proved that the two DO NOT mix (the oil separated and rose to the top). Then Ms. Betsy taught that it’s the same with us – we cannot be worried about something and be fully trusting God at the same time. God is all-knowing and in total control all the time so we can give Him our worries and know that everything will be okay! Our verse for the night was Proverbs 3:5-6. After the clubbers looked up the verse in their Bibles, we learned a song to help us remember it even better. Ask your clubber to teach you the song! :)
Congrats to the GREEN team – they were the big winners last night and performed a stellar victory dance on stage!
Parents – there is NO AWANA next week! On the 28th, though, we will all come back together for TEAM COLOR NIGHT! That night, we will share some fun parallels between pumpkins and God…hmmmm??!!
We absolutely love spending time with your kids – they are amazing!!
Have a great week!
The AWANA Team
