We’re excited to recognize and thank the entire Rupe family! Melodee, Larry, Grant, and Ashley have been part of the Canyon Springs community since 2012, and they’ve helped out in so many different ways.
The Rupes lead our Starting Point Ministry. They have hearts for welcoming new people to church and pour into folks from the start. At least 4 times a year they schedule a luncheon, send out invitations, provide the food and create an environment that is warm and welcoming at The Cove for all families attending.
Additionally, Larry mentions he “helps” with Hospitality. Larry serves almost every Sunday on Hospitality. Not only does he cover his scheduled shift he almost always stays and helps others with whatever additional work needs to be completed. The Rupe family is one of the first to step up when we ask for assistance. They do not have children in Sunday school yet they serve as Sunday School teachers, and when we introduced them to our check in Kiosk, they all volunteered to be trained so they could help check families in.

Stuff & Random Tidbits
The Rupes initiated a fundraiser of gently used sports equipment this past year. Larry asked if he could use one of Canyon Springs easy-ups to set up a booth at opening day of softball. Prior to the big day he gathered equipment from families, and on the opening day gathered even more equipment.
All of the equipment was given to Rio Al Mar, the organization Dan Williams heads up for the children in Mexico. Larry took it upon himself to have Canyon Springs information available to anyone who stopped by the booth to donate equipment, in case they had questions about our church. This is a family who shows their faith in action!
Who is your favorite sports team?
Any team my kids are playing on. Larry has coached half the young girls in Scripps Ranch in soccer for years. He started coaching with his daughter, Ashley and has been a positive influence for so many of our Scripps Ranch youth.
How many donut holes do you eat each week in the courtyard?
Just coffee thanks!
